Our NMUN participation
For the past 15 years, SimONU Marseille has been taking part in the NMUN (National Model United Nations) simulations in New York and Washington. NMUN was one of the first organizations to organize Model United Nations, and one of the largest, welcoming nearly 5,000 students to the New York conference.
At these conferences, held in the spring, members of the association play the role of diplomats in various United Nations committees, mobilizing their portfolio of geopolitical knowledge and their ability to debate issues of global importance.
Each year, our delegation represents an assigned country, faithfully embodying its foreign policy while respecting the principles of multilateralism. Our members work as a team to write Position Papers, prepare powerful speeches and develop effective negotiating strategies.
Our NMUN achievements
During our participation, SimONU Marseille was able to receive several awards from NMUN. These awards, given to the entire delegation, to members of specific committees and to the best Position Papers, recognize the delegates who are the most involved and committed to the diplomatic process. They acknowledge our ability to combine academic rigor, eloquence and a spirit of collaboration throughout the conference.
Our delegates distinguished themselves by contributing constructively to the debates and fostering consensus between the various delegations. Their professionalism and respect for UN diplomatic values were also recognized, illustrating their commitment to inclusive and respectful negotiations.
These awards are the fruit of the hard work and dedication of our delegates, and motivate us to continue our commitment to Model UN conferences.
